Workshops by Moira Schepel 2013

SCULPTURE

The program includes five days of sculpture lessons that will take you from the forming and clay modeling of your idea to the polishing of your creation in stone or olive wood.  The prices also include the use of tools, coffee and tea and a paella or barbecue on Friday (stone and olive wood are excluded).

The maximum number of participants per group is 8 and the lessons and materials are adapted to each participant’s level of expertise.

Starting dates in 2013:  
4^th of March, 1^st of April, 27^th of May, 17^th of June, 8^th and 22^nd of July, 16^th of September and 28^th of October.



MOSAIC

This art workshop is taught together with Irene Bertoni, a painter specialized in murals. Both artists attended the Mosaic Art School of the renowned artist Luciana Notturni, in Ravenna and they both complement each other.

You will learn how to use 3 different techniques, specially focusing on the one used by the ancient Romans and Byzantines, and how to make from small pieces for decorating your house to bigger creations such as floors and outside tables.

The prices include a five days’ workshop, the use of tools and the materials (Venetian Glazed glass is excluded), coffee and tea and a paella or barbecue on Friday.

RAKU FIRING

Raku is an ancient Japanese decorative pottery technique. The clay used is improved by adding organic materials such as paper. After the modeling it goes through firing and cooling cycles that confer the pieces their characteristic cracked look. The pieces can be decorated with a variety of substances.

The workshop will last from Monday till Friday, with one free day –Thursday- which you can use for visiting the natural park or the beach, city, walking Malaga or taking a trip to see the Alhambra. You will also learn how to build your own raku oven and will be able to take home the pieces you made.

The prices include the workshop, the use of tools and the materials, coffee and tea and tapas and drinks on Friday.

Starting dates in 2013:
