The Costa del Sol has a region, between the sea and the mountains, that conquers the hearts of thousands of travelers every year. This is the Axarquia of Malaga, a region composed of nine villages that stretch from the coast to the mountains and we are sure that you will also be conquered if you visit us. Do you wish to know what villages we speak of?

The nine white villages of the Axarquía

Located in the easternmost part of the province of Málaga, these nine locations differ in landscape, culture and architecture. However, all retain the charm of the people of Malaga and the connection with their traditions and the land.

1.     Nerja, Sea and Mountains

Located between the coast and the mountains, the cliffs of Maro are well worth a visit, as well as its historic center and its beaches. It is a charming town that you should not miss if you are in the area.

2.     Torrox

The first peculiarity of this area is its division in two. On the one hand, we have the village Torrox, whose urban nucleus is the original and the oldest, located in the interior. At 4 kilometers, is Torrox Costa, bathed as you can imagine by the Mediterranean Sea.

Both places are different, the old town showing great architecture from the past typical of the white villages and then the coastal area, showing a splendid promenad with plenty of bars and restaurantes to delight tourists.

3.     Frigiliana

Bordering the Sierra de Almijara, Tejeda and Alhama, at your feet, is one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, second maybe only to Cómpeta, of course. Narrow streets, steep, typical of a town at the foot of a mountain, shows some of the magic of the villages of the Axarquía. Some places worth visiting would be the Palace of the Counts of Frigiliana or El Ingenio.

4.     Algarrobo

To walk through Algarrobo is to travel through time. The Arab influence is felt in its streets and simply drives you to visit again and again to take great photographs.
