If you are in Nerja, the connection is through Algarroba Costa, whose bus stop is next to the Lidl supermarket.

These bus routes a also go through Algarrobo and Sayalonga, if you are interested in checking these villages out too.

No matter your choice of transport you will notice the roads to be from another age.  No dual Carriege ways or motorways.  Here you will waken your inner adventurer traveling this beautiful road and its landscape.  On one side you will see trees of varying species and on the other side beautiful deep ravines, curtosey of the wonderful ortografy the mountains have shaped for us.  It seems incredible to see how the vegetation clings to each span of land and how fruit trees are found in the fields and lands of the region.

You will see how the road climbs without any complexity until you reach Cómpeta. Surrounded by almond and olive trees, the village stands next to the 4,000-hectares natural reserves, which incorporates the Sierra Almijara, which rises to 2,000 meters above sea level. This environment provides us with a good network of trails that will allow you to combine long or short routes in its hills. See this link with more information: What to visit in Competa: Sierra de Almijara.

Competa is without a doubt a hidden surprise for thouse who visit, with its small streets of white houses and old churches, where you will also enjoy exceptional panoramic views of even the Mediterranian Sea.  Sea and Mountains locked together with you traveling them on an unforgetable journey.
